One of my very best friends, who i havn't seen in forever, called me 2day and said he was leaving to go back to Furman U. 2morrow. But on his way back through he is meeting me at SPSU at 12noon. Sorry about that, but I havn't seen him in over 9 months. Have a good meetin' though -Thomas

Comments: No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks (Luke 6:43-45).

Comments: Thursdays sound fine. I have no classes that day, so I'll just ride my bike to school and hope one of you is up for a workout before or after. Meet, greet and ride :) I've got the monday of spring break open right now. Tuesday is the 50-mile group ride from Roswell to Atlanta and back; the rest of the week I'll be at Jekyll Island [I think]. Something this or next saturday could work too. Definately mountain!

Comments: Good to see you're still hanging in there, Ed. Depending on how much [free] time it would take, I can probably help with the race coordination.

Comments: Wow, I have missed alot. The only mountain bike I have right now is a pimped out Wal-Mart Mongoose. All this mountain biking sounds great, I can't wait to go again. On a seperate note, I don't know that I will be able to race this season or not. I have been put on academic probation and need to focus on that more than anything else. I am still here if anyone needs their bike worked on, but is there anyone on the team that could take over for me as race coordinator? It would be much appreciated.

Comments: there's gotta be a better time to meet than 6am. I don't make to bed until 2am most of the time, and I don't function well (I.E. drive, do math, speak) with no sleep. let's try more like 8 or 9am

Comments: yes, you have to be insane to run that long. Every time I did my 20+ runs for marathon training the mid-run conversations began to loose all meaning and the english language took a severe beating. I usually had someone to run with, so I wasn't talking to myself (well, mostly). One day I'll save and buy an ipod, then all will be well.

Comments: Yeah Man, I am on campus today (Fri). I get out of class at 12noon and will workout until 2pm. Let me know if you will be here and I'll check the boards when I get out of class at noon. If I see you have left a message to meet you somewhere then I meet you where ever. If not...If it rains this weekend, my boss said I probably would not be working, about a 50/50 chance I would in the rain, however, if I do work I get out at around 12 so I could just meet you at the "waffle place or whatever that is" next to the Ford dealership off of the 575N, Woodstock (Towne Lake) exit...the exit after the homedepot one... The "waffle place or whatever it is" is the food place directly off the exit in front of you. Or DUDE, what would be even better, since I'm guessing we are taking one car is you could just meet me at my house. It is closer to SPSU anyways, and we could jsut leave from there--that would pose a lot better for many reasons--one of which is my car would be at home not some "waffle or whatever that is," place. Here are the directions...(http://fiddlingtommy.tripod.com/images/map.jpg) Except you are coming opposite of Berry College. So go 75N and take a right off of exit 273. Then start from step #4 :) let me know what you think. peace, Thomas

Name: Tommy-Wed Meeting
Comments: I second Jim about hate to have to be the one--I could make the meeting at 12 but Wed, are my killer workout day (i.e. this past Wed. I ran 16 miles to kenessaw Mtn, up and back. a 2+hr run) So I have a 12-2 break, but I need all that time to either run/lift/ride or a combo of them, so I second a morning, morning, like 6AM meeting or something. Now if we could set up a chat room we could have online meetings...that would be sweeeet.

Comments: Hey guys, I have been working out times for our team meetings. I believe noon meetings would work the best. How about we try Wednesdays at noon. If there are a lot of people who can't attend, I can change the meeting to another day. What are you thoughts? David.

Comments: Tombo, like the idea of...ummm. crap i forgot what you said, but that's where will go. (and also for reference I believe the trails in Helen are closed when it rains, but not sure.) About Saturday, I work in Kennesaw so I can just leave work around noon and meet you in Woodstock or something. Just keep leaving messages or give me a call.

Comments: I say bear creek if that is all right with you stephen. i've heard some good things about that trail and beside I would hate to drive along way only to have the trail close b/c of rain. We can carpool and split the gas if that's alright with you. What time and where to you want to meet saturday? I am working right off of 575N at Woodstock.

Comments: You know what, just go to chicopee. It is a great place to ride now that the trails are smoothing out agian. About an hour away, heading north up 575. (it's exit seventeen, but you have to drive a good way off the exit). The only downside is they close when it rains. Bear creek doesn't ever close if you don't mind the drive. You can easily ride anywhere from ten to 30 miles there. (well, they're not easy miles, it's a couple hours of ascending to the turn-around, and thirty minutes or less of descending at mach 12)

Comments: I almost forgot. Unicoi state park is about an hour, maybe a little more, away, and it has one of the most intricate trail systems I have ever been on, be ready to climb if you go there. Tht place would make a awesome epic ride spot. Chickapea is another great spot, I don't think I spelled that right, but there are some awesome trails, and super fast.

Comments: Elijay is about 1.5 hours away (bear creek is anyway). Fort Mtn. is about 2 hours away. Snake creek gap is up near there, but I have no idea how far away it is. (but I do know it is a 32 mile loop, 16 out and 16 back). The horsepark at Conyers is awesome, but it's south (about an hour).

Comments: Yellow River has some great trails, that's where I will be on Saturday, in the afternoon. Ft. Mountain is about an hour away. Ft. Yargo has some fun trails. Tribble Mill is has a good selection to choose from, anywhere from fast and wide to super tech and still fast. Thay are all pretty good though. Bring a bike with suspension though!

Comments: Well dang, there is a chance for rain on Saturday, but who cares. I say we maybe go up to Ellijay or somewhere that no more than an hour away. That way we have more riding time. Anyone know of any good riding that's within an hour and north of here, besides Blankets?

Name: Tommy--This weekend & Spring Break
Comments: Oh yeah Stephen--same here, I work in the morning and then have the afternoon free, so lets do it! Anyone else in? As far as spring break--well, I'm up for that too--I just have to take the "rigged" stiff fork off my mtn bike--that would be death on those trails so I here--and I'll be ready to go. Stephen, what time do you want to meet/ I should get off work by 11 or 12. If it's raining, I'm still in. We need to get your truck stpehen or David to come with his jeep so we can drive into the muddy wilderness, unstrap the mtn bikes and just go--ride, climb...whateva! -Thomas

Comments: I'm booked this weekend, but Spring break is just around the corner. If you guys want a trip to Ft. Mountain that first weekend would be cool, and I think I will be up there anyway because those trails are freek'n sweet. It would leave the rest of the week open for whatever you guys have planed as well. Think about it. Peace. Jim

Comments: by the way, tuesday of spring break, there is a big group ride from the court house in roswell to the capitol building in atlanta. The ride is to gain some media attention and protest the lack of bike lanes in Ga. It's free, and if you register for it you get free lunch at the capitol building (so I've heard). If you don't register, you can still ride, but no free lunch. should be around fifty miles round trip. YOu can register by emailing the organizer or early on the morning of. ride is March 7, 10 am (I think). let me know if you want more info. ayoung2@spsu.edu
